FC Bayern Munich – Alexander Nübel's advisor Stefan Backs: "Neuer and Nübel don't work"

Stefan Backs, Alexander Nübel’s advisor, has made clear statements about a possible return of the goalkeeper loaned to AS Monaco to FC Bayern Munich.

Opposite of Munich evening newspaper Backs said that a collaboration between Nübel FCB goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic, a close confidant of the injured Manuel Neuer, is complicated. “There is no relationship, no exchange with Tapalovic,” said the agent.

Backs is also of the opinion: “Neuer and Nübel together at Bayern – that doesn’t work.”

However, the German record champions have started talks with Nübel’s current club, as Backs confirmed: “FC Bayern have informed me that they are in contact with AS Monaco. But no decision has been made yet. Alex is very relaxed. It is a comfortable situation.”

Just recently, Backs said the dpa: “Basically, Alex has signed a contract with Bayern Munich in order to play there at some point. But there have to be requirements for that.” Nübel would need “maximum backing,” Backs continued.

Nübel moved from FC Schalke 04 to FC Bayern on a free transfer in 2020, but only made four competitive appearances in his first season. The former U21 national goalkeeper has been on loan to AS Monaco since summer 2021. The loan runs until the end of the season. Nübel still has a contract with FC Bayern until 2025.
