FC Bayern Munich: Damaged copy of the championship trophy

All clear for FC Bayern: The championship trophy damaged during the victory celebration on the balcony of Munich City Hall on Sunday was just a copy. At the request of ran.de the German Football League confirmed that the good piece was merely a replica.

The valuable original had waited in Dortmund – as is well known in vain – to be used.

National player Joshua Kimmich had already expressed serious concerns if the damaged part was actually the “real” shell: “I hope it’s the copy, otherwise we’ll have a problem.”

An outer part “just fell off,” Kimmich noted during the celebration on Marienplatz: “It’s just wear and tear.”
