FC Bayern Munich extends contract with main sponsor Deutsche Telekom

FC Bayern Munich and Deutsche Telekom are continuing their cooperation. As the German record champions announced in a PK before the game against VfL Wolfsburg, Telekom will remain the main sponsor.

The contract between Telekom and Bayern would have expired in 2023, but the cooperation has now been extended to 2027. Details on the volume of the deal were not given table football spoke of an annual sum of 50 million euros, which Deutsche Telekom will transfer to Bayern every season.

That would be around 5 million euros more than in the past. For more than 20 years now, the “T” of the company has been denounced on the chest of FC Bayern. “That’s huge, we’re very happy about it!” said CEO Oliver Kahn on the signing of the contract.

Confronted with the question to what extent the club will benefit directly from the additional income, Kahn said: “The football business is a very short-term business. We would all not be doing our job properly if we did not have an eye on what is possible with our partners. The FC Bayern is absolutely outstanding in terms of its partner structure when you compare it on an international level. There are few, if any, clubs that operate on the scale we do.”

Kahn raves about the deal: “It’s very extraordinary”

Kahn continued: “It’s very unusual that we’ve been partners for 20 years. A lot has built up there, especially trust. Everyone knows what competition FC Bayern is in, so it’s extremely important to have such a strong partner to have.” The chairman of the board is also quoted as follows on the association’s website: Together we have already experienced a unique success story. Our goal is to continue to set standards, in sport and beyond – and we have succeeded once again with this contract extension.”

FC Bayern cites “effective support for brand and product communication as well as the successful implementation of sales support measures” as the goals of the partnership.
