Maria KeaneFor the second time in a row, FC Bayern Munich will forego the traditional training camp in Qatar this winter. That reports the image.
Accordingly, the German record champions cancels the trip again for scheduling reasons. Instead, coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team is preparing for the second half of the season on Säbener Strasse.
After the end of the first half of the season (December 17-19), FC Bayern hardly has any time until the ball rolls again in the new year. The second half of the Bundesliga season starts on January 7th. Due to the short period of time, a stay in the host country of the 2022 World Cup would simply not have been worthwhile.
The people of Munich have been traveling to Qatar since January 2012. Last year, the Doha days were canceled due to Corona and the shortened winter break. This year, FCB was there for the Club World Cup from February 4th to 11th.
In addition, after a conversation with the team council, Nagelsmann is said to have deviated from his plan to train for three days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This means that the Bayern professionals have time off to start the new year more rested.
