Bayern don't always do the same thing!

Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has criticized Tanguy Nianzou. The 19-year-old central defender from France has not played a major role this season.

“He always has moments when he plays outstanding passes into midfield and has an outstanding game opening,” said Nagelsmann at the press conference on Friday before the away game at VfL Bochum (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.). “But there are always situations, like after coming on in Cologne, in which he makes hair-raising mistakes. He still lacks that reliability a bit.”

Tanguy Nianzou is moving from Paris St. Germain to FC Bayern in the summer of 2020. As a supplementary player, Nianzou is currently barely playing minutes. In the Bundesliga this season he has only made eleven short appearances on the field.

“Of course, that also has something to do with match practice. As a coach, you have to focus on certain things,” says Nagelsmann. Nevertheless, he sees Nianzou as primarily responsible: “He has to free himself from this vicious circle to a certain extent, in which he gets this reliability in his game. Whether he prepares a goal as a defender or not, I don’t care for the time being. It’s important is that he doesn’t prepare one for the opponent.”

After the definite departure of Niklas Süle to Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern is now concerned with how the defense of the record champions will look in the future without the German international.
