FC Bayern Munich, News: Guardiola is worried about Haaland

As is well known, FC Bayern meets Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals (April 11 and 19). As is well known, the former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is at the helm of the English team – and he is very concerned about his goalscorer Erling Haaland. Guardiola doesn’t do that because Haaland has any problems with his form or health, but because the Norwegian scores too many goals. During the week Haaland ended Leipzig’s CL dreams with a five-pack in City’s 7-0 second leg win, on Saturday the former BVB striker added a three-pack in the 6-0 win against FC Burnley in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Haaland now has 42 goals in 37 competitive games for City.

For Guardiola, this hit rate can only lead to difficulties. “The boy will have a problem in the future because people expect him to score three or four goals in every game but that’s not going to happen,” Guardiola said on Saturday night. However, he believes that Haaland will be able to cope well with public expectations, because the Norwegian is “always positive and optimistic and never complains”. However, Haaland is also dependent on his teammates: “If we continue to play like we are at the moment, Erling will continue to score.”

FC Bayern Munich, rumour: Interested in Japan star Kaoru Mitoma?

According to the British portal team talk Bayern deal with the personnel Kaoru Mitoma. The 25-year-old left winger is at Brighton & Hove Albion and featured in all four of Japan’s games at the World Cup in Qatar, including wins against Germany and Spain. According to the report, Mitoma has also been on the radar of other top clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Mitoma arrived in England from Japan in 2021 but only got his start with the Seagulls after a loan to Union St Gilloise in the Belgian league this season. The nimble winger has scored six goals in 20 Premier League games.

FC Bayern Munich, News: Nice Goretzka anecdote revealed

Bayern’s technical director Marco Neppe revealed a nice story in the club’s own podcast in connection with the contract negotiations with Leon Goretzka in autumn 2021. Accordingly, three of them were sitting together, FCB sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, Goretzka and Neppe himself, when he began to draw Goretzka.

“At some point I thought, we’re really going in circles here. I think I’ll manage to draw the whole thing. The two talked, I took a piece of paper and a pen,” said Neppe in the podcast . He then expanded the picture with “thought bubbles” and added “the pros and cons”. Neppe described the end result as “beautiful” and “probably okay” in terms of content.

This can be assumed, because Goretzka finally extended his contract with Bayern until the summer of 2026. He then gave Goretzka his work of art. “I hope it’s hanging on his fridge,” Neppe said.

FC Bayern Munich, News: Kracher against Leverkusen

FCB will play Bayer Leverkusen early on Sunday evening (5.30 p.m. on DAZN/SPOX live ticker). For Julian Nagelsmann’s team it’s all about regaining the lead in the table that Borussia Dortmund conquered with a brilliant 6-1 win over 1. FC Köln on Saturday evening. For Leverkusen it’s about keeping up with the international places. Most recently, the squad of ex-Bayern strategist Xabi Alonso won twice in the league and bought the ticket for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
