At the season opener of FC Bayern Munich, the possible new signing Harry Kane is the big topic. Ex-captain Philipp Lahm prefers not to say anything about it.
Philipp Lahm, former captain of FC Bayern Munich, reacted annoyed to a question about a possible signing of Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur by FCB during the Bayern team presentation in the Allianz Arena.
“There will definitely be players coming soon, I don’t have anything to do with that,” said Lahm at the start of the Munich season in the mixed zone. “I have other tasks, so I don’t get involved,” he explained about his ex-club’s plans and added: “That’s not my responsibility. I have other tasks than dealing with FC Bayern’s transfer policy. That’s why I’m wrong here, I think.”
FC Bayern Munich has been courting Spurs striker Kane for weeks and, according to media reports, has already made two offers for the Englishman, which Tottenham have rejected. The Spurs are said to be demanding around 115 million euros for their captain, who is still under contract with them until 2024.
Lahm, head of the organizing committee for the EM 2024 in Germany and EM ambassador for Munich, was the player in the anniversary game between the Champions League winners FCB 2013 against BVB in the Allianz Arena.
