FC Bayern - Nagelsmann explains Gravenberch renunciation against Frankfurt: "He is a hardship"

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann announced Ryan Gravenberch’s resignation before his team’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt. In addition, the FCB coach spoke about the current low form of Munich and Jamal Musiala.

“Ryan is a hardship who more than deserves to play from the start. I told him that again in the hotel,” said Nagelsmann about Gravenberch, who again failed to make the starting XI against SBU.

Instead of the Dutchman, Thomas Müller will celebrate his comeback in the first eleven. “Thomas is very experienced. It’s good for us to have one or two anchors on the field,” said the Bayern coach about the decision to let the 33-year-old play from the start.

In addition, Nagelsmann also spoke about the recently weaker results of the German record champions against Leipzig and Cologne. “Two draws are of course not enough for us.”

Nevertheless, he is convinced of an early turnaround: “I didn’t even see in training that the boys were in a bad mood. I think we lack a bit of a can opener or momentum. We had the chance against Leipzig, we had it against Cologne we don’t have them. The momentum was totally on the Cologne side for the first ten minutes. But over the successful weeks, that always helped us a lot to get into the game well. It doesn’t always have to be a goal,” Nagelsmann continued .

Nagelsmann also backed Musiala, who was also unconvincing. “But as a neutral fan, it’s also when Jamal Musiala has magic moments. I don’t think he played badly. It’s clear that he’s an outstanding footballer. Hopefully he can give us outstanding moments today.”
