FC Bayern, rumor: Mané penalty higher than assumed

The penalty that Sadio Mané received from FC Bayern after his slap in the face by Lery Sané is apparently even higher than previously thought. According to Sport Bild, the Senegalese has to pay the German record champions 350,000 euros. So far, it was “only” assumed to be around 300,000 euros.

At FCB, this would be the highest fine ever imposed on a player. For comparison: Franck Ribéry only had to shell out 50,000 euros for his shot against team-mate Arjen Robben in 2012.

In addition to the fine, the Bayern bosses suspended Mané for the Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim. However, the striker is back in the squad for today’s Champions League clash against Manchester City.

However, there should no longer be any bad air between Mané and Sané. According to information from Sport1, both would have said their opinion openly and honestly and settled the dispute.

FC Bayern, News: Ex-talent Basta raises serious allegations

Former Bayern talent Riccardo Basta has made serious allegations against his former club. “After all, every child dreams of becoming a professional footballer. And I was very close to this dream at Bayern. I was fooled. I was made false promises,” said the 28-year-old in an interview with sports1.

Basta was referring to the alleged promises of those responsible regarding working times with the professionals. “After my first contract extension, he told me that they were counting on me and that they were planning with me,” the midfielder continued.

In a conversation with the then sports director Matthias Sammer, it should have been clarified that “I will be a link between the first and second teams. I should also be in the squad from time to time. Of course I thought that was great. But at the end of the day it’s nothing arrived from it.” Only “from time to time” did he have the opportunity to train with the first team.

Basta also made allegations against the former Bayern youth and current ManUnited coach Erik ten Hag. He denied him the “chance of accepting a specific loan offer from abroad” that Basta had received. That’s why he often clashed with the Dutchman. I personally didn’t have a good bond with ten Hag. He was almost like a dictator. He had a plan and we players had to follow it.”

Basta played for FC Bayern between 2014 and 2017. He was then without a club for almost a year before signing a contract with 1860 Rosenheim in March 2018. Today the 28-year-old is active at VfB Garching in the Bayernliga.

FC Bayern, News: FCB old stars optimistic for ManCity

Claudio Pizarro and Owen Hargreaves believe in their former club Bayern Munich’s Champions League comeback against Manchester City. “We are very strong at home and always favorites. Anything can happen in the Allianz Arena, even a miracle. In the end we will qualify, I have every confidence,” said Pizarro ahead of Wednesday’s quarter-final second leg in the club TV of the German record champions.

“You can be confident that it will work,” added Hargreaves: “The stadium will burn, the fans will be hot. They can do it, but they also have to be brave and believe in it.”

But the respect for City is great, especially for “Tormonster” Erling Haaland. “He has everything,” enthused former striker Pizarro (44), and Hargreaves (42) said: “Stopping Haaland is almost impossible, you have to do it together.”

The recipe for a miracle after the 0: 3 in the first leg? “They need an early goal – if they concede it’s over. You have to defend while attacking without being open,” said Hargreaves. Pizarro added: “It’s very important to be patient.”
