FC Bayern – News: Sabitzer is massively critical

It was probably not his fault that FC Bayern did not get more than 1-1 at Union Berlin and that the lead in the table is gone for the time being. Marcel Sabitzer was strong in tackles, aggressive and ball-safe like in the previous games of this season.

Sabitzer has not only become more present and grippy on the field, he is now also louder. After the game in Berlin, he complained: “We had a match plan, but we didn’t play it out to the end.”

In general, a certain sloppiness rankled with the Austrian: “Especially at the beginning of the second half, we could have maybe played one or two actions better. If we took the lead there, we probably would have won the game. So we were unclean and maybe we got it too three points not deserved.”

Sabitzer also criticized that Bayern lacked the necessary “toxicity” that it needs against a strong opponent like Union.

FC Bayern – News: Müller raves about San Siro

Next Wednesday the wait will be over: the next Champions League season will start. For FC Bayern, the hunt for the handle pot begins with a repeat of the 2010 final: it’s against Inter Milan.

Thomas Müller is particularly looking forward to the stadium. “I’ve been able to play a few times at the San Siro. It’s no longer the most modern stadium, but I’ve been there as a spectator as a child and I’m still very impressed by the story,” said Müller after the game in Berlin. “If you’ve ever sat in the upper tier, you know what’s going on.”

From a sporting point of view, the game has a groundbreaking character for Müller, even if it is only the first of six group games: “In such a group phase, the opening game is simply very important for the feeling and the further course, in order not to come under pressure.” Especially when a certain Robert Lewandowski with FC Barcelona is on the list of opponents.

FC Bayern – News: Lewandowski defeated curse

Even if Robert Lewandowski no longer plays for FC Bayern, he still carries certain “legacy burdens” with him. He got rid of one of them on Saturday. The Pole scored in the next Barca win against Sevilla. And he had never scored against the Andalusians before. Neither with FC Bayern in three games, nor with Borussia Dortmund on two occasions.
