FC Bayern probably before the transfer of Australian super talent

FC Bayern will probably secure top Australian talent Nestory Irankunda from Adelaide United.

According to a report by beIN Sports Australia the two clubs are nearing completion in negotiations over a transfer. A few days ago already had the sports picture reported an interest from the German record champions in the 17-year-old.

Numbers are not mentioned in the report, but Bayern should transfer a “significant sum plus bonuses” to Adelaide for the transfer of Irankunda. In addition, the teenager, who is versatile in attack, will be loaned out to his current club for the 2023/24 season.

Bayern’s squad planner Marco Neppe is said to see the fast winger as a “project player” modeled on Alphonso Davies (22). The Canadian once moved from the Vancouver Whitecaps to Munich at a young age for a relatively high fee (14 million euros) and developed there into one of the best left-backs in the world.

Irankunda has made 19 appearances in the A-League for Adelaide this season. He scored five goals and prepared two more goals.

Irankunda was born in Tanzania but is part of the extended Australia national team. Most recently, he was in the Soceroos squad for the friendlies against Ecuador (3-1, 1-2) in March, but was not used.

He netted eight times in three games for Australia’s U17s.
