Although April was “an absolute disappointment” with the elimination in the DFB Cup and the Champions League and poor performances in the Bundesliga, Müller wrote, but now is “not the right time for a large-scale investigation into the causes”.
Instead, the full focus must be on the eleventh championship title in a row. Four games before the end of the season, Munich are one point ahead of pursuers Borussia Dortmund, also thanks to the “not entirely consistent competition” according to Müller.
“We owe it to ourselves, to our fans and to the DNA of the club to do everything we can to give the season a happy ending by winning the championship,” continued Müller: “I expect that from myself, from our team and the environment absolute faith, commitment and unity.”
