FC Bayern – Thomas Tuchel on Uli Hoeneß: “I do my best to take care of his club”

Thomas Tuchel once again underlined the importance of Honorary President Uli Hoeneß in the course of signing record champions Bayern Munich.

As the 49-year-old confirmed on Friday, he also spoke to Hoeneß several times in negotiations with sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and board boss Oliver Kahn. “It was very important for me to speak to him,” said Tuchel: “I wanted to tell him that I’m doing my best to take care of his club.”

Tuchel had already thanked Hoeneß when he was presented as Bayern coach, the two have known each other since 2015, the long-time manager and president of Munich is considered a great admirer of Tuchel.

“FC Bayern is Uli Hoeneß and Uli Hoeneß is FC Bayern,” emphasized Tuchel, noting at the same time: “Other people are my contacts in everyday life, and I feel comfortable with that.”
