FC Bayern apparently toyed with the idea of luring Kai Havertz back into the Bundesliga. Robert Lewandowski’s successor on the team council has probably been found – it’s not Sadio Mane. Meanwhile, the board of a Bundesliga rival sees no way to end Bayern’s dominance. News and rumors about FCB can be found here.
Here you will find the news and rumors from the day before!
FC Bayern, rumor: mind games about Havertz obligation?
In the search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, the name Kai Havertz apparently also played a role in the mind games of those responsible in Munich. This reports sports1. Accordingly, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and his colleagues at Havertz’ consulting agency ROOF asked to what extent a transfer would be possible.
FCB’s plan: Ideally, Lewandowski should be accommodated at Chelsea in order to poach Havertz from the Blues in return. However, nothing came of this endeavor, which was due to the fact that the Pole clearly spoke out in favor of a move to FC Barcelona and Serge Gnabry, also represented by ROOF, extended his contract in Munich after a hanging game. Instead, Bayern signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool FC.
However, it is quite conceivable that Havertz, who could no longer be financed after the transactions made and was also satisfied with his sporting role in London (contract until 2025), will again be an issue in Munich in the future. Those responsible find the player interesting, Salihamidzic and the current Honorary President Uli Hoeneß would have liked to guide the player to FCB even as a Bayer Leverkusen professional. In order to be able to realize a transfer, however, at least one prominent Bayern offensive player would have to leave the club.
FC Bayern, rumor: Mane apparently not on the team council
Lewandowski’s departure freed up a place on the team council of the German record champions, which will be replaced sports1-Not new signing Sadio Mane, but Leon Goretzka.
However, this should not be understood as a doubt about Manes’ leadership qualities, who integrated quickly and maintain a good relationship with his new teammates and coach Julian Nagelsmann. Rather, with Kingsley Coman, there is already a player on the council who is committed to the interests and wishes of the French-speaking players around Lucas Hernandez, Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard.
Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich also belong to the five-member council. Like the last one picture reported, Kimmich will move up in the hierarchy due to the Lewandowski change and will act as the third captain in the future.
FC Bayern, News: No remedy against FCB’s Bundesliga dominance?
Axel Hellmann, spokesman for the board of Eintracht Frankfurt, sees no way how the national dominance of FC Bayern can be ended. “It is problematic that we will have the same German champions ten times and probably eleven times. But I don’t see any way of slowing that down by changing the rules,” explains Hellmann sky.
More important than things like the introduction of playoffs or the targeted weakening of FCB is bringing the competitors to a higher level – “economically and sportingly. That will be the only chance to put pressure on Bayern in the competition”.
Abolishing the controversial 50+1 rule would not help at all: “If Arminia Bielefeld puts ten percent on the market, they might get 15 million. If Eintracht Frankfurt puts ten percent on the market, we might get 50 million. If FC Bayern put ten percent on the market, they might get 300 million,” explained Hellmann.
