FCB coach Thomas Tuchel hints at a possible loan from youngster Mathys Tel

Coach Thomas Tuchel does not rule out that FC Bayern will loan Mathys Tel, who was only signed at the start of the season, in the coming season.

“We see his qualities. He’s explosive and has a strong finish. He has to keep that,” said Tuchel about the almost 18-year-old attacker, who came from Stade Rennes for 20 million euros.

Tel, who is considered an alternative to center forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, “first played the role of substitute,” said Tuchel. Therefore, the French could be given match practice through a loan deal. However, it has “not yet” been decided how FC Bayern will proceed: “Loan, keep – we’ll do that at the end of August, not before.”

Tel has a contract in Munich until 2025. The club recently extended the contract with Choupo-Moting until 2024. Irrespective of this, the Munich team want to invest in a center forward for the new season.
