FC Bayern observe Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. He reports that Mirror. Accordingly, the German record champions would have sent a scout to Villa’s game against Fulham (1-0) last Tuesday. In that game, however, the in-form attacker went away empty-handed.

Bayern are looking for a striker for the new season. So far, mainly Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Victor Osimhen (SSC Napoli) and Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt) have been traded. Watkins is not a very big name in comparison, but is currently one of the most in-form attackers in Europe.

In 35 competitive games this season, Watkins has scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists. He has been in excellent form in recent weeks and has consistently scored goal after goal since Steven Gerrard’s coaching change to Unai Emery. In the meantime, he had a run of eleven goals in twelve Premier League games.

Villa’s team manager Emery said of the situation in his attack and possible transfers: “I advise every player to use our momentum professionally, improve and just think about football. Watkins does that well and is a good example. (.. .) We’re happy with Watkins, he’s developing and we want to keep him.”

Nevertheless, he would still like a player for the center of attack: “I want a stronger team with two players in each position.”

Watkins will not be a bargain with a possible transfer in the summer. Aston Villa transferred €34m to Aston Villa in 2020 for the 27-year-old. Watkins previously played for Exeter City. The contract of the England international (seven appearances, two goals) with the traditional club from Birmingham runs until 2025.

Bayern meet bottom-placed Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga on Sunday and have a chance to regain the lead in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Watkins and Aston Villa travel to Old Trafford for the Premier League clash against Manchester United.
