Fat lull in the 70 million man! FC Bayern should rather keep their hands off him

Ex-professional Thomas Strunz has sharply criticized Hasan Salihamidzic. Across from Picture the 55-year-old criticized the squad planning of the Bayern sports director.

“I don’t want to say that Brazzo is overwhelmed. Certainly they failed to sign an equivalent replacement after Robert Lewandowski’s departure. It’s been a process since Salihamidzic has been there,” said Strunz.

And since Salihamidzic took office in 2017, Strunz, who was German champion five times with Bayern and won the Champions League in 2001, has been very critical of this process.

“When I looked at the squad back then and which players were there in the squad who carried the ‘Mia-san-mia’ feeling and also showed that feeling on the pitch,” said Strunz. “Today we have a talented squad, but they no longer radiate that feeling.”

The surprising change of coach from Julian Nagelsmann to Thomas Tuchel “must be questioned,” Strunz demanded.

Strunz misses leader: “I don’t see an axis”

The ex-national player (41 senior internationals) sees room for improvement in almost every part of the team and misses leaders: “I don’t see any axis, as was the case in the past, that stands up in critical times and says: ‘We are FC Bayern and it doesn’t matter where we play because we win everywhere.'”

FC Bayern has lost two out of three titles under Tuchel in the past few weeks. In the DFB Cup quarter-finals, the record champions lost to SC Freiburg, and in the Champions League they lost to Manchester City.

In the Bundesliga, too, the change in coaches had no effect. Most recently, Bayern were weak in the 1-1 draw against TSG Hoffenheim and in the 3-1 defeat at FSV Mainz 05.

After Borussia Dortmund’s draw at VfL Bochum on Friday, the Munich team could still return to the top of the table on Sunday. To do this, the defending champion must win his home game against bottom Hertha BSC (3:30 p.m. in the live ticker).
