Ex-Schalke player Malick Thiaw keeps his fingers crossed for his former club in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga and hopes for the Royal Blues to stay up in the league.
“I would really like them to stay up somehow,” said the AC Milan centre-back SID.
The direct duels against the other relegation candidates would come. “So I trust them to be able to start a small series again and then move up again to 16th or maybe even 15th place,” said the U21 international, who signed from Schalke in the summer of 2022 for around seven million euros the Rossoneri had changed.
The 21-year-old has not lost his connection to his old club. “If we don’t play at the same time or have training, I still try to watch as many of the Schalke games as possible. Of course I’m still in regular contact with a number of guys from the team,” said Thiaw: “It’s definitely still everything is in there – the season is still long and what I hear from the team, the boys still believe in themselves and in staying up.”
