Frankfurt with a victory in the first friendly

Without the 2014 world champion Mario Götze, Eintracht Frankfurt started the new season with a befitting victory. The winner of the Europa League won 14-0 (6-0) against the Hessian district upper division club SV Nieder-Weisel in Butzbach.

Top newcomer Götze was rested in the one-sided game due to slight muscular problems. The guests took the lead against the eight-class amateurs after just 39 seconds, the top scorers being newcomer Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Paciencia, each with three goals.

Coach Oliver Glasner’s team made their first competitive appearance in the first DFB-Pokal on August 1 (8:45 p.m.) at second-division promoted team 1. FC Magdeburg.

SC Freiburg only 0-0 in the first test

SC Freiburg missed a win in the first friendly in preparation for the new season. Last season’s surprise team couldn’t get more than 0-0 against newly promoted third division team SV Elversberg 07.

The game took place in front of around 4,800 fans in the Dreisamstadion – the former home of Freiburg. In a largely unspectacular game, SC substitute goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff saved an Elversberger penalty (20′).

VfB Stuttgart started the season with an easy win

VfB Stuttgart started the new season with an easy friendly victory. The Swabians won 7-1 (4-0) at the state league club SV Böblingen. Alou Kuol (71st, 76th, 84th) scored three times, Chris Führich (16th, 35th) twice. The other goals were scored by Enzo Millot (24′) and Thomas Kastanaras (38′).

Stars Sasa Kalajdzic and Borna Sosa, who are willing to change, were absent due to longer vacations, as was Atakan Karazor, who is still in custody for a possible crime in Ibiza.

FSV Mainz 05 wins 4-0 in Worms

Only after an increase in performance in the second half did Mainz win a test match at regional league team Wormatia Worms 4-0 (0-0). The goals for the guests were scored by Ben Bobzien (58′), Marlon Mustapha (60′) and Danny Schmidt and Dominik Kohr in stoppage time.

Coach Bo Svensson’s team played their first competitive game in the first round of the DFB Cup on July 31 (6 p.m.) at Erzgebirge Aue, which had been relegated to the second division.

VfL Bochum wins the test in Bocholt

VfL Bochum celebrated their second win in the third friendly. After initial difficulties, coach Thomas Reis’ team won 3-1 (0-1) at the regional league club 1. FC Bocholt. New signing Jordi Osei-Tutu (56′) and Silvere Ganvoula (73′, 75′) turned the game around. Malek Fakhro (44th) put Bocholt in the lead.

The Bochum team won the start of the test 2-0 at regional league club Wuppertaler SV, followed by a 1-1 draw at premier league club 1. FC Monheim. On July 30th, regional league club Viktoria Berlin is waiting for VfL in the first round of the DFB Cup. In the Bundesliga, Bochum will face FSV Mainz 05 a week later.
