Sebastian Rode scored for Frankfurt in Fürth.

Eintracht Frankfurt succeeded in the hoped-for liberation in the Bundesliga, while SpVgg Greuther Fürth continued their horror home series dramatically.

The shortly before substitute Sebastian Rode scored the late lead in the 75th minute for Eintracht, which apart from the sensational victory at Bayern had so far mainly convinced in the Europa League. Cedric Itten equalized in the second minute of stoppage time, but in return Rafael Borre shot Eintracht to victory (90.4).

For Fürth, despite a passionate performance after the 22nd unsuccessful attempt to finally land a Bundesliga victory at the Ronhof, the situation is becoming more and more dramatic. Only one point after eleven match days – no team in Bundesliga history has ever been that bad.

Oliver Glasner smiled all over his face after the blow, his counterpart Stefan Leitl was paralyzed after the knock-out at the last minute: Eintracht Frankfurt won the cellar duel at Greuther Fürth both happily and dramatically with 2: 1 despite a poor performance before the break (0-0) and gained some air after the second win of the season in the league. Coach Glasner can now go into the international break a little more relaxed.

Fürth’s situation is becoming more and more dramatic

For Fürth, despite a passionate performance after the 22nd unsuccessful attempt to finally land a Bundesliga victory at the Ronhof, the situation is becoming more and more dramatic. Only one point after eleven match days – no team in Bundesliga history has ever been that bad.

“It was a victory of the fight and the mentality,” said substitute Sebastian Rode, who scored the late opening goal in the 75th minute DAZN. “We have to get this slight blockade that we have in the Bundesliga out again,” added Rode with a view to the previous season of Eintracht, which, apart from the sensational victory at Bayern, had so far mainly convinced in the Europa League.

Cedric Itten managed to equalize the hosts in the second minute of stoppage time, but in return Rafael Borre shot Eintracht to victory (90 + 4) and hit the Fürth, who almost collectively fell to the ground at the final whistle.

Azzouzi: “I have to put a ball in”

“We now have to mobilize all our strengths and take this momentum and this euphoria with us,” said Glasner before the game after his team had once again shown a different face in the European Cup. But in Fürth there was absolutely no sign of this momentum before the break. Rather, the Hessians switched to the dreaded league mode.

The guests in front of 10,244 spectators did not come into play against the aggressively acting Franks. The Hessians met a rump group of the clover leaf. A total of eleven players were missing, including the injured defense chief Nick Viergever and five professionals who tested positive for COVID-19.

Nevertheless, the SpVgg acted courageously and put the tired-looking Eintracht under pressure. Branimir Hrgota and Paul Seguin also had very good chances, but in the end, as is so often the case this season, they lacked the necessary bit of luck and determination. The Eintracht remained completely harmless before the break.

“We have the thing under control, but we also have to put a ball in,” said Fürth sports director Rachid Azzouzi DAZN. And it went on like this for the time being. Fürth pushed, but Jetro Willems and the conspicuous Jamie Leweling again missed the Fürth lead shortly after the change.

Eintracht now woke up and suddenly had some dangerous actions that resulted in the leadership. Fürth tried everything, however, Itten forced Kevin Trapp to make a strong save in the 87th minute. Then it got turbulent.
