FC Bayern Munich, News: Salihamidzic comments on Serge Gnabry

Bavaria’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has commented on the incidents surrounding Serge Gnabry’s trip to Paris and the subsequent dispute with the German record champions.

“I didn’t pick anyone. We then talked, Serge accepted it and the next day it was done for me. It’s up to you that you make a big deal out of it. There’s nothing more between me and Serge. We talked about it like men, that’s what we demand,” Salihamidzic denied sky a quarrel between him and Gnabry.

Gnabry traveled to Paris for Fashion Week at the weekend after the start of the second half of the season against Leipzig, but two days later against 1. FC Köln he was substituted at half-time with a below-average performance.

Salihamidzic then described Gnabry’s behavior as “amateurish”. “That’s exactly what Bayern Munich is not,” complained the FCB board. In the cup against FSV Mainz 05, the national player was on the bench for the second time in a row and only made one short appearance.

FC Bayern Munich, News: Julian Nagelsmann causes confusion

Even before the game against 1. FSV Mainz 05, FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann explained that his players had sat down without him a few days ago to find a way out of the current sporting crisis.

“It’s a team sport. The players sat down and spoke without a coach. We know that we’re in the same boat and need better results,” Nagelsmann said sky.

When asked about this team meeting, Joshua Kimmich did not want to know anything about it after the final whistle. “The coach was there at the meeting, and we players also had our say. I just heard that. Now I know where it came from. We had a meeting with the coach, where we also had our say. Of course we players exchange ideas with each other”, said the midfielder in the ARD.

Nagelsmann backtracked a little later and explained that “you have to ask the players about this. I don’t think there was an official appointment where all the players were and I wasn’t. But individual players certainly talk to each other. They’re grown men,” explained the Bayern coach.

FC Bayern Munich, News: Julian Nagelsmann raves about Joao Cancelo’s debut

Joao Cancelo only needed a little over 15 minutes for the first exclamation mark in the FC Bayern jersey. On the right side, the star newcomer from Munich made some space, looked up briefly and prepared the opening goal by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (17th) with a precise cross (SPOX grade 1.5). Coaches, teammates and officials were thrilled after the record champions’ 4-0 (3-0) win at 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the DFB Cup.

“That was a pretty good performance for the first game with a new team,” said Thomas Müller with a wink. Cancelo has “great quality, he was able to show that today,” added Joshua Kimmich: “I hope and assume that we will have a lot of fun with him.” President Herbert Hainer also praised the Portuguese: “He’ll be really good for us.”

Coach Julian Nagelsmann, who called Cancelo into the starting XI just one day after his arrival in Munich, also gave special praise. “The first two or three actions were incredibly creative. He’s just very calm on the ball, which we need against deep opponents,” said Nagelsmann: “He also defended well and was extremely hard-working. He made a lot of deep runs , which we’ve been missing a little lately.”
