“He can still play the next World Cup!” Clear announcement in terms of Manuel Neuer

Goalkeeper icon Sepp Maier is convinced that Manuel Neuer will make a successful comeback. Bayern Munich’s currently injured keeper could still be in goal for the national team after the home European Championship in summer 2024.

“If he is fit again and wants to play that long at all, he can also play the next World Cup,” Maier told the news portal t-online.

Neuer is currently pursuing the goal of getting fully involved in FC Bayern team training in July in preparation for the new season.

Maier is convinced that the 37-year-old will once again reach world-class level. “Of course, logically. He’ll perform the same again,” said Maier.

The 79-year-old believes that Neuer, who has been out since the winter break because of a broken leg, can still play “a few more years at the top level”: “Neuer can easily play until he’s 40, 41 or 42.”
