BVB: future of Erling Haaland? Heidel sees “little chance” for Dortmund

The future of Erling Haaland continues to be hotly debated. Christian Heidel, sports director of Dortmund’s Bundesliga competitor FSV Mainz 05, also comments on the BVB top scorer. He thinks Haaland’s whereabouts are unrealistic.

“I hardly see any chance for Dortmund,” said Heidel in a picture interview. “For the really big ones, it’s a bargain for 75 to 90 million euros. It was a huge deal that they were able to get him from Salzburg back then.”

For Haaland, BVB is “a great intermediate step,” added the 58-year-old. “He will definitely switch to one of the really big clubs. Real, Paris, Chelsea, the two Manchester clubs or Juve.”

the Sports picture recently reported that Haaland is the only current BVB player with a release clause in his contract. As is well known, this clause will take effect next summer and should be around 75 million euros. Various bonuses could increase it to 90 million euros. According to the report, the Dortmund bosses are trying to convince their striker to stay until 2023. In this case, his current annual salary of eight million euros should increase to around 15 million euros.
