Hertha BSC - Michael Preetz criticizes Jürgen Klinsmann: "In no one as deceived as in him"

Manager Michael Preetz spoke publicly for the first time after being kicked out at Hertha BSC and sharply criticized Jürgen Klinsmann. “I’m definitely not as wrong about any colleague as I am about him,” said Preetz sports picture. The 54-year-old emphasized that this applies to both the coach and Klinsmann as a person.

“His sudden departure and his public resignation are not evidence of a strong sportsmanship,” said Preetz. As sports director, he appointed the former world champion as head coach in November 2019. After just four months, Klinsmann announced his resignation via Facebook, and a little later he gave the team and club management a miserable report in published diaries. “You will certainly understand that I have a much more differentiated opinion on this,” said Preetz when asked.

He himself has reflected and analyzed his work over the past few months. “In a responsible position you always try to make decisions to the best of your knowledge and belief,” Preetz defended himself. He is accused of having made many wrong personnel decisions despite Lars Windhorst’s many millions of investors.

After the termination agreement signed with Hertha, he was ready for a new task. “I’m very recovered physically and mentally and full of energy,” said the former striker. “The battery is full and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
