Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has drawn a disappointed conclusion after his first season in the Bundesliga. “I don’t want to experience a year like that again,” the 21-year-old told the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and added: “I just want to play more, preferably at Bayern Munich.”
Especially under ex-coach Julian Nagelsmann, Gravenberch often had a difficult time and did not get the expected deployment times. “I had done a very good preparation and thought I deserved it,” said the Dutchman. But then he “played more under Thomas Tuchel. That gave me a good feeling.” Among other things, Gravenberch was in the starting XI on the last matchday in Cologne.
Should he not be given the prospect of additional playing time at Bayern, Gravenberch, who had moved to Munich from Ajax Amsterdam before the season, would not rule out a move either. In any case, he wants to be at a club “where I play 100 percent.”
After the forthcoming U21 European Championship, in which Gravenberch is taking part with the Dutch team, talks are to take place about a future role at Bayern. Then, according to the midfielder, we will see “how it goes on.”
