Markus Babbel has criticized Lucas Hernández for his statements after moving from Bayern Munich to Paris Saint-Germain.
“In retrospect, such a whispering gets on my nerves. It’s always difficult for me,” said Babbel sky and meant the parting words of the Frenchman.
“This club has allowed me to grow as a player and as a person. I’m proud to have worn the shirt of one of the most renowned clubs in the world. Finally, I ask you to respect my decision, even if goodbyes are always difficult,” said the 27 -year-old declared after four years in Munich and thus not only angered many fans, but also Mehmet Scholl.
From a sporting point of view, Babbel believes the decision of the FCB officials to hand Hernández over is correct anyway. “I think it’s a great move from both sides. For Bayern – and for him too. Bayern paid a lot of money for him and are now getting a lot of money again,” said the former Bayern professional.
The French national player switched from Atletico Madrid to the German record champions for 80 million euros in 2018. The defender has now moved on to Paris for 45 million euros plus bonus payments, where he received a contract until 2028.
FC Bayern – Babbel: “Kim plays smarter than Hernández”
As a replacement for Hernández, Min-jae Kim from SSC Napoli is approaching Munich. The 26-year-old South Korean is a better choice for Babbel compared to Hernández.
“He’s smarter than Hernandez. Kim is as good at one-on-one as Hernandez, but when it comes to smarts, Kim has the advantage,” said Babbel.
