Interruption! Men tie themselves to posts

In the Bundesliga game between Eintracht Frankfurt and SC Freiburg, two people caused an interruption. The two men tied themselves to the post of Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp with cable ties shortly after kick-off.

They wore T-shirts that read “Last Generation – Stop the fossil madness!”.

When stewards had released the two activists from the post after around four minutes, the game could be continued. Some of the ranks whistled for the action. A similar form of protest had recently occurred in England in the match between Everton FC and Newcastle United.
