BVB, rumor: Return of Jadon Sancho probably not an issue
There have been rumors of Jadon Sancho returning to Borussia Dortmund for a few weeks. The 23-year-old only played sporadically at Manchester United last season, which is why the Red Devils are said to be toying with the idea of letting him go this summer.
According to information from Bild newspaper a return campaign by Dortmund is not on the agenda. The reason for this is the commitment of talent Julien Duranville in the last winter transfer window.
Accordingly, those responsible for BVB are convinced that the 17-year-old already has the right alternative to Sancho in the squad. Apparently, he is even credited with a steeper development than Sancho back then.
Sancho was under contract with Borussia Dortmund between 2017 and 2021 before moving to Manchester United for a transfer fee of 60 million euros. He scored 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for BVB.
BVB, News: Dortmund professionals start with performance diagnostics
The Borussia Dortmund professionals started preparing for the 2023/24 season on Wednesday. The first day of training was dedicated to performance diagnostics. “We’re happy that it’s starting again and that we’ll be back on the pitch in the next few days. The break was long enough,” said captain Marco Reus.
At 8 a.m. the first BVB pros returned to the Hohenbuschei training center. “Performance diagnostics is the prerequisite for training control and injury prevention. We want to cover these two building blocks with various test procedures, which we can now do here in Brackel,” says Dr. Mathias Kolodziej, head of sports science at BVB.
The first team training session of the new season is this Thursday, when it’s back to the training ground for the first time. The first pre-season friendly is in a week: BVB will be visiting Westfalia Rhynern on 12 July.
