Jean-Paul Boëtius reports from the hospital after a tumor operation

According to Jean-Paul Boëtius, he underwent a successful operation after his testicular tumor diagnosis. The Hertha BSC midfielder reported from the sickbed on Friday evening.

“The operation is complete and went well,” the 28-year-old wrote on Instagram. “Thank you everyone for the heartwarming and uplifting words.”

The Dutchman also thanked his club Hertha BSC and the medical department for their support.

Boëtius was diagnosed with a testicular tumor during a urological examination on Wednesday.

It was the fourth case in the Bundesliga since spring. Previously, his teammate Marco Richter, as well as Timo Baumgartl (Union Berlin) and Sébastien Haller (BVB) were also affected.

After the diagnosis, Boëtius received numerous wishes for recovery, including from his former club Mainz 05 as well as from Union and Borussia Dortmund.

Hertha President Kay Bernstein wrote on Twitter: “When the brain doesn’t want to believe what the ears hear. Family is always with you! Think positive, hope for the best, fight and get well quickly!”
