Maria KeaneAlena Buyx, chairwoman of the German Ethics Council, sees Joshua Kimmich as “badly advised” when it comes to corona vaccination. The professional from Bayern Munich, who has so far refused to refer to possible consequential damage from a vaccination, was “given up on false information,” said Buyx at Sky Sports News.
“It is his private decision, it is very important to pay attention to it,” emphasized the professor, “but I think it is a shame. Joshua Kimmich is a role model that people look up to and that you listen to.” Skeptics could use his statements to “cast doubts about vaccination”.
It was a “misconception” that long-term consequences could occur after a corona vaccination, stressed Buyx. However, she appealed to take the worries of many people seriously and not to switch off immediately during discussions. Corona deniers cannot be reached with this, but there are “still many who have questions or who have heard something wrong, as was perhaps the case with Joshua Kimmich. These people have to be shown sources that they can trust.”
She also hopes for the Munich. “The pandemic is not over yet and Kimmich as someone in the spotlight is important in this.” Should he get vaccinated, it could “give a jolt”.
