Maria KeaneNational player Joshua Kimmich tried his hand at craftsmen during the first Corona lockdown, but was “not particularly skillful”.
He and his girlfriend “built a sandpit for the kids and a wooden bench”, Kimmich reported in Bayern Munich’s club magazine 51, “but unfortunately both are more botch, not TÜV-tested.” Because there are screws sticking out on the bench, there is even a certain “risk of injury”.
Born in Stuttgart (26), he confessed that he had taken tools himself out of thrift. “I’m Swabian,” he said. As a professional he can afford a lot, “but then I always ask myself the question: Do you have to afford everything? Will that help me, does it make me happier?” At the bank, however, he was ultimately “even worse in terms of costs than if we had bought the finished thing,” said Kimmich.
