Josko Gvardiol wants to leave RB Leipzig for Manchester City. This was confirmed by Max Eberl, the manager of the Saxons, of the Leipziger Volkszeitung.
“Josko and his advisors have given us their wish to move to Manchester City,” said Eberl. “We are in talks with Manchester. There is nothing more to say at the moment,” he added.
Gvardiol is under contract with RB until 2027, so Leipzig can call a high transfer fee for the central defender. They reportedly want more than €100m for the Croatian, which would make him the most expensive defender in the world.
Gvardiol joined RB in 2021 for around €19m from his youth club Dinamo Zagreb. Should the Bundesliga club sell him after two years for anything close to the intended sum, he would have done a very good deal with the 21-time national player.
