Jude Bellingham's gesture looks hard to say goodbye

A gesture by Jude Bellingham fuels speculation about a farewell to BVB. The Englishman left Dortmund after the Bundesliga season finale on Wednesday. A photo shows the 19-year-old at the airport banging the frame above the check-in door with the palm of his hand. An action that can be interpreted as a farewell greeting.

Bellingham is said to be close to a transfer to Real Madrid. According to several media reports, he reached an agreement with the Spanish record champions in April, while BVB’s efforts to prematurely extend the contract, which runs until 2025, were unsuccessful.

Before the last matchday in the Bundesliga, it was said that the transfer should be officially announced in the week after the end of the season. BVB will receive a fee of 100 million euros plus bonuses of 25 million euros.

BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl said about the Bellingham cause in the Picture, there will be “movement” in the matter. In the Ruhr news he said: “One of my tasks is to be prepared for everything. I did that conscientiously and we would react accordingly.” At the same time he restricted: “But nothing has happened at the moment.”

Bellingham moved from his hometown club Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for a fee of 25 million euros. The German runner-up beckons a fat transfer plus.

The central midfielder made 42 competitive appearances for BVB this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 7 assists. Most recently, however, he had to take a forced break due to a knee injury. So he wore an orthosis on the way to England to protect his injured right knee.
