BVB, News: Bellingham parents prevent an international trip

Jude Bellingham will miss the international matches with the English national team – because his parents wanted it that way. In consultation with the English association, Denise and Mark Bellingham had decided not to send their son to the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary. The only 18-year-old should finally get a few days off instead. Bellingham had played the European Championship in the summer and so had only a very short summer break.

BVB coach Marco Rose agreed on Saturday Sky to: “Jude is 18 years old and had little vacation. We welcome it and stand behind the decision because Jude was burdened a lot. It will be good for the boy to be able to breathe a few days.”

Bellingham played through against FC Augsburg (2-1) on Saturday. The teenager has already played eleven competitive games for BVB this season.

BVB, News: Mats Hummels hit again

In Dortmund’s victory against FC Augsburg, Mats Hummels followed the final phase from the bench, the head of defense was sitting there with a thick ice pack around his knee. Hummels had to be replaced prematurely after 65 minutes – again -.

“He had a bit of problems with the control of the muscles. He didn’t have a good feeling anymore. That was the signal,” said BVB coach Marco Rose at the press conference after the game. Already in the spring Hummels had problems with his knee again and again, which is why he almost missed the EM. Because of the tournament in summer, the necessary break was missing to give the body some rest.

Hummels had already missed the start of the season due to an irritation of the patellar tendon.

BVB, News: Haaland not part of the national team

Erling Haaland is currently injured at BVB and the striker is suffering from muscular problems. BVB coach Marco Rose reacted on Saturday to statements by Norwegian national coach Stale Solbakken.

“We were hoping for better news, but are keeping the door open for the time being,” he said in view of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. They want to stay in close contact with the Borussia doctors. To kicker– and SID-Information, Haaland will stay in Dortmund.

“It doesn’t look good for Norway. Erling says so too,” Rose emphasized on Saturday. “Erling has been trying to play for days. It didn’t work in the Champions League, and it didn’t work today. He’s a person, not a machine. We have to get the boy healthy.”

On Sunday, licensed game manager Sebastian Kehl spoke to the kicker similar: “At the moment Erling is not yet able to train, let alone play a game. In the end, the club has to be the most important thing. With all our understanding for the interests of the association, we mustn’t take any chances with him.”

Kehl should continue to regenerate during the upcoming international break in order to be available again in Borussia’s next competitive game. “I strongly assume that Erling can then be back on the pitch,” said Kehl, referring to a Haaland mission on October 16 against Mainz 05.
