Jurriën Timber from Ajax Amsterdam is arguably an alternative to Benjamin Pavard

At FC Bayern and Benjamin Pavard, everything looks like a future together. However, an alternative could be a star from Ajax Amsterdam.

FC Bayern has Jurriën Timber from Ajax Amsterdam in mind as a possible alternative to Benjamin Pavard. That reports sports1.

Benjamin Pavard made a clear statement in the winter and openly flirted with saying goodbye to FC Bayern. However, since FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann has been playing with a back three, Pavard has been acting centrally in his desired position and is one of the top performers at the German record champions. An extension of the contract, which expires in 2024, is considered likely.

However, if Pavard does not stay on Säbener Straße, FC Bayern apparently has a plan B up their sleeves. Jurriën Timber from Ajax Amsterdam should be on FCB’s radar, even if the report says nothing concrete so far.

A contract extension for the in-form Pavard should have priority at Bayern Munich. Should this not come about, Timber could become a serious issue. But Manchester United with ex-Ajax coach Erik ten Hag and BVB are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old.

The Dutch international made 36 appearances for Ajax in all competitions this season, contributing one goal and two assists.
