Is Eintracht Frankfurt losing one of its greatest European Cup heroes? As the Gazzetta dello Sport reported, Juventus Turin is interested in Filip Kostic. The 29-year-old should help put his Serbian compatriot Dusan Vlahovic in the spotlight next season.
Both already know each other from the national team, Vlahovic himself has only scored seven goals in 15 Serie A games at Juve since moving from Fiorentina to Turin. In some cases, the 22-year-old still lacked the connection to the game, but that should change in the coming season.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri plans a three-point attack with Vlahovic in the centre, Kostic on the left and Angel Di Maria on the right. Previously, Ivan Perisic was considered the ideal move for Juve, however, the Croatian is close to a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Kostic is still under contract in Frankfurt until 2023, the transfer fee is 15 million euros. Kostic was about to leave Frankfurt last year, Lazio Rome was very interested. But the Hessians refused to release it, which is why Kostic briefly quit the service.
However, those times are long gone. Kostic played well in the Europa League and played a major role in Eintracht’s first European Cup title in 42 years. Kostic was later named UEFA Europa League Player of the Season. With the income from the Champions League qualification, Frankfurt also holds the reins in a transfer.
