Karim Adeyemi rows back in the penalty Zoff

BVB winger Karim Adeyemi has corrected his opinion about the unwhined penalty in the game at Eintracht Frankfurt. After he had pleaded “no foul” when asked after the game, he now clarified this statement.

Via Instagram shared the 20-year-old: “To address the controversial interview and clarify! I wasn’t shown the scene after the game and it felt different to me in the game. After seeing the pictures I have to honestly admit that mine statement was false.”

Borussia Dortmund was very lucky in the 2-1 win in the top game at Frankfurt that both referee Sascha Stegemann and video assistant Robert Kampka did not recognize Adeyemi’s clear push against Eintracht player Jesper Lindström as a penalty. After the game, Stegemann admitted his mistake and explained that he “couldn’t see a clear foul or a clear impulse” on the field.

Adeyemi, on the other hand, explained the scene immediately after the final whistle sports1 as follows: “I was at the back first, then he was in front of me. It wasn’t a foul for me at all. So it felt like I was body to body with him. That’s why I thought the referee was right.” To the annoyance of the Eintracht side, he only said: “That’s their business. We have three points, I don’t really care.”

Among other things, SGE sports director Markus Krösche was completely upset and said loudly Hessen show: “That really gets on my nerves. We have this assistant, then ask him. If you then decide otherwise, that’s okay with me. But that’s a joke. We don’t need it like that.”
