FC Bayern Munich: Rummenigge writes off BVB

Ex-Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has more or less written off BVB in the fight for the championship after losing to RB Leipzig at the weekend (1: 2). Although Bayern’s lead in the championship is only four points.

“Dortmund lost again, now we can slowly dust off the championship trophy,” he said image. He doesn’t think that BVB’s problem is the lack of hunger for the title. “I think they are hungry for the title. But it’s always the quality on the pitch, and Bavaria is simply ahead of the game at the moment. And the coach is also a great fit for Bayern,” explained KHR.

He made no secret of the fact that the potentially tenth championship in a row would be accompanied by a certain lack of irritation. “When the same team wins championships every year, it’s not very refreshing, especially for non-Bayern fans. Our job is still to become champions,” he said.

FC Bayern: Poland coach calls Lewandowski as a world footballer

Poland’s national coach Paulo Sousa has called for the world football title for his protégé Robert Lewandowski.

“I have no doubt that he is the best this year too,” said the Portuguese in an interview with the kicker: “It would be a great injustice if he didn’t. Robert maintained his high level. Not only with a view to the goals, but also in terms of the assists and his other work for the team.”

He also sees the FCB striker clearly ahead in comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. “Robert is currently much more consistent than the two of them, also tougher, more grippy. His influence on the team and the result is greater. During a single game, but also game day after game day, week after week,” he said.

Lewandowski was voted world footballer last year, ahead of Messi and CR7.

FC Bayern Munich: Breitner and Hoeneß reconcile

Paul Breitner and Uli Hoeneß put their decades-long dispute aside and reconciled during Gerd Müller’s funeral.

“The funeral for Gerd made us say: ‘Man, actually we are sensible people. Now we have behaved for decades in a way that not even small children would,'” said Breitner on the sidelines of the Bavarian Sports Prize BR.

“We had so many wonderful years privately and of course with FC Bayern and the national team that it would be crazy if you ruined it,” continued Breiter.

Hoeneß also shared Breitner’s view: “An occasion like this was a particularly good opportunity to bury the hatchet and look ahead. It really turned out to be possible.”

Hoeneß and Breitner: Several disputes

During their time together at FCB in 1983 on a trip to Asia there was a “trifle”, which is why the two did not exchange a word for over ten years.

Many years later, in 2018, the next argument broke out. As a result of the famous press conference by Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, at which the Bayern bosses equated criticism of players with violations of human rights, Breitner publicly broke the collar.

“There are no two opinions on this matter. As a normal-thinking person, I can’t swallow this performance. If someone asks, everyone has to say: ‘Hello, that’s not how it works'”, he had scolded at the time. Thereupon he returned his tickets in the grandstand of the Allianz Arena.

FC Bayern Munich: Effenberg on the weak point of the FCB

Despite FC Bayern’s 2-1 win over SC Freiburg and the associated expansion of the championship lead, Stefan Effenberg warned of a weak point in Munich.

“Bayern play good football, but the top teams in Europe will still uncover a weak point: Bayern are still conceding a relatively large number of goals,” Effenberg wrote in his Sport1-Column.

Julian Nagelsmann is a “great coach”, but in the end he has to be measured by titles. “And that can only be the Champions League,” said Effenberg.

In addition, Nagelsmann had to get a better feel for “that you are dealing with absolute world-class players at Bayern. This means: Nagelsmann doesn’t need to tell Lewandowski: ‘You watch out, you have to do that in the penalty area now.’ Nagelsmann then makes himself look ridiculous, “he explained.
