Leon Goretzka spoke with clear statements about his future at Bayern Munich. He also strengthened national coach Hansi Flick’s back.
The 28-year-old has his personal future clearly in mind: “I have no other plans than to stay at Bayern!” The Munich team has “big plans for the coming season. The fact that we have become champions again does not change the fact that we want to and will attack properly in all competitions again,” said Goretzka sports1.
Hansi Flick is “definitely” the right national coach for the national player. “I know what Hansi is capable of. I trust him 100 percent to coach us to a successful EM.”
Flick had already managed to put “eleven friends” on the pitch in the triple triumph with the record champions in 2020, Goretzka explained: “That was one of Hansi’s great achievements. He managed to promote and shape this team spirit. It can work the same way within the national team.”
Goretzka therefore considers it all the more important that a real starting eleven finally emerge one year before the European Championships. “As a fan, I think you just have to know: This is my team. This is the left winger, he marches up and down and hits the flanks. This is the striker who scores goals for us.” However, one is currently still “searching”.
