Manuel Neuer may be absent at the start of training

The comeback of national soccer goalkeeper Manuel Neuer may be delayed. According to Sky information, the 37-year-old will not be present at Bayern Munich’s training session on July 13 as planned.

The original plan was for the new player, who had been injured for months, to complete the entire program with the team again for the first time. The keeper still needs time, Sky reported on Friday. The participation of the DFB captain in the planned Asia tour of Bavaria from July 24 should therefore be uncertain.

Neuer broke his lower leg on a ski tour after the World Cup in December and has since been out. In May he completed part of the training again for the first time and was confident that he would be fit for the start of the new season. Despite the serious injury, he never left any doubt about his return.

In the past few months, Neuer had been represented by Yann Sommer, who had moved to Munich from Mönchengladbach in the winter. The Swiss is now threatened with the role of number two behind Neuer. Therefore, there has long been speculation about the departure of the 34-year-old. There are now reports of Sommer’s negotiations with the Champions League finalists Inter Milan, whose regular keeper Andre Onana is associated with Manchester United.
