Marco Reus is overwhelmed by the question of his future at Borussia Dortmund

Marco Reus’ contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in the summer. After BVB’s victory over RB Leipzig, the 33-year-old was overwhelmed when asked about his future.

“The stadium exploded, you got goosebumps. Can you imagine that you won’t have that feeling next season?” asked DAZN-Reporter Max Siebald the BVB captain after the game against RBL.

A question with which Reus was visibly overwhelmed so shortly after an emotional game – and also expressed it.

“Oh, oh, so now you suddenly get it from the situation. Uh, no, of course, I hope not,” Reus replied and added: “Uh, sorry, my head was somewhere else. Now you have you got me completely.”

When asked if he was in any case not averse to continuing to play in Dortmund, the offensive player then became clear: “Yes, of course!”

Reus: Loss of salary as a problem?

Reus would obviously have to agree to significant salary cuts if the contract were extended. The Picture even reported a halving from twelve million euros to six million euros per year.

In terms of earnings, Reus has so far not been willing to “restrict himself too much,” she wrote WAZ. It is the declared goal of the BVB bosses to conclude more performance-oriented contracts in the future.

Reus was born in Dortmund and played in the BVB youth team from 1995 to 2005. After three years at RW Ahlen and three years at Borussia Mönchengladbach, he returned to Borussia in 2012.

In the current season, the German national player has appeared in 19 competitive games for Dortmund. His yield: six goals and seven assists.
