Marco Reus on saying goodbye to Borussia Dortmund: “Of course you think about it”

“Of course you think about it when you get offers from different teams, top clubs. But that’s part of it and you have to make a decision at some point,” Reus recalled in an interview with ESPN back to previous offers.
Born in Dortmund, who had already been trained in the youth department of BVB, never saw a reason to leave his heart club. “Playing in front of 80,000 fans is something you wouldn’t want to miss. That’s why the decision was never really difficult. I have to say that all the decisions I’ve made came from the heart,” he said.
In 2012 Reus returned to Dortmund via positions at RW Ahlen and Borussia Mönchengladbach. He has been the captain of the Black and Yellows since 2018. The 32-year-old’s contract runs until 2023.
