Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mathys Tel were injured in FC Bayern Munich’s 27-0 win in a friendly against ninth division club FC Rottach-Egern. Thomas Tuchel confirmed this after the game.
After the thrashing victory, Tuchel spoke of a “good day of training”, but added: “Unfortunately, two players are injured.”
Choupo-Moting would complain of knee pain after a collision with the goalkeeper and Mathys Tel of shoulder problems. “That’s the big fly in the ointment,” said Tuchel.
In addition, FC Bayern must continue to do without Thomas Müller for the time being, Tuchel expects the ailing 33-year-old back “at the earliest” for the trip to Japan and Singapore (July 24th to August 3rd).
“We have to wait for the healing process and see how free he is then and how far it makes sense,” explained Tuchel. Müller left the German record champions’ training camp at Tegernsee early due to muscular problems in his left hip.
