Maria KeaneDefender Matthijs de Ligt may face an injury-related forced break at Bayern Munich. The Dutchman was substituted in the game against Mainz 05 at half-time.
De Ligt required treatment on his left rear thigh towards the end of the first half and was then left in the dressing room.
An exact diagnosis was not yet available. De Ligt gave the all-clear after the game: “It’s okay,” he said.
Benjamin Pavard came on for the central defender. De Ligt is currently in Bayern’s center of defense alongside Dayot Upamecano. The 23-year-old has played 16 competitive games for the record champions, scoring one goal.
