Maria KeaneChancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) considers a change of opinion by national player Joshua Kimmich with a view to a corona vaccination to be conceivable.
“Interesting are the arguments with which he justifies his decision, because there are very good factual arguments on his questions and doubts that are generally available,” said the executive head of government Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS): “Maybe Joshua Kimmich is still thinking about it. He is known as a very reflective footballer.”
Last week it became known that the professional from record champions Bayern Munich had decided against a vaccination against the coronavirus due to “personal concerns”. According to his own statement, the 26-year-old is skeptical about the “lack of long-term studies”.
As a result, a debate about Kimmich’s decision broke out.
The former CDU leader Merkel again campaigned for a vaccination against the virus. The 67-year-old emphasized, however, that a professional footballer is also a citizen “who has the right not to be vaccinated in a country that does not have to be vaccinated”.
