Maria KeaneThomas Meunier tore a tendon in the Europa League game against Glasgow Rangers and will probably not be available to BVB for at least two months.
The club announced this on Sunday afternoon. According to BVB, the defender will definitely be absent in “March and April”. The Frenchman tore a tendon on the back of his thigh in the 2-2 draw against Rangers.
The personnel situation at BVB is currently very tense. In the away game against FC Augsburg (5:30 p.m. DAZN), Dortmund coach Marco Rose will have to do without Erling Haaland, Marco Reus, Giovanni Reyna, Manuel Akanji Dan-Axel Zagadou and Thomas Meunier due to injury. The latter is now even longer than initially expected.
“We have 100,000 injuries all the time,” complained Mats Hummels and exaggerated on Thursday evening after the game against Rangers.
So far this season, Meunier has scored two goals and five assists for Borussia Dortmund.
