A future decision by Jude Bellingham at BVB is apparently imminent. Meanwhile, a decision is also approaching for Mats Hummels, while the mayor of Dortmund is entering the championship race. The news and rumors about Borussia Dortmund.

BVB, rumour: Bellingham’s future decided – “Agreement is almost imminent”

The departure of Jude Bellingham from BVB – presumably in the direction of Real Madrid – is getting closer. Now the Brit is said to have even rejected a record offer from Borussia Dortmund.

How Picture reported that Borussia have offered him an extension of the existing contract by one year until 2026, including a salary increase to around 14 million euros a year. But Bellingham will decline, according to the tabloid.

This is accompanied by a statement from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who spoke in the podcast “Die Dortmund Woche” from sports1 said: “Real really want him. The agreement is almost imminent. Negotiations are still under way with Dortmund. The deal hasn’t been sealed yet, but the most difficult part, reaching an agreement with the players, is almost done.”

Romano went on to say that Madrid had given the England international a clear plan for the future, despite the contract extensions of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. “They see Jude with Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga as part of Real’s future. Not for one, two or three years, but for several years. That’s the idea.”

Romano assumes that the clubs will soon reach an agreement, but also expects that there will be no announcement until the decision in the Bundesliga is made, so as not to disturb BVB in the fight for the championship.

BVB – News: Dortmund’s mayor makes a strange offer to Schalke

In the fight for the championship, BVB needs support on the last three matchdays of the Bundesliga in order to overtake FC Bayern. A candidate for this is archrival Schalke 04, of all people, who will play next Saturday at the leaders in Munich. Dortmund’s Mayor Thomas Westphal provided a special incentive for Schalke to win a point.

As part of the photo exhibition “Myth of Modernity. Football in the Ruhr Area” at the Zollverein colliery in Essen, he said to the WAZ: “If FC Schalke 04 beat FC Bayern next weekend and BVB become champions as a result, then I’ll invite the current Schalke team to City Hall so that they can sign Dortmund’s Golden Book.”

It’s actually an absurdity, but obviously they really do everything for the championship in Dortmund.

BVB – Rumor: There are signs of farewell to Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels’ contract with BVB expires at the end of the season. It is still unclear what will happen next, but according to a report by Ruhr news there is at least a clear trend.

Hummels is currently back on the pitch more often to stand in for the injured Nico Schlotterbeck and is doing well. The former defense chief earned praise from all sides for his performances in the 6-0 win against Wolfsburg on Sunday. Teammates such as goalkeeper Gregor Kobel (“He’s an outstanding central defender.”) or coach Edin Terzic, who attested Hummels an “outstanding game”, think highly of Hummels.

And yet the official decision about the future is missing. RN therefore speculates that Hummels’ closeness to the fans in recent weeks or his games after the final whistle with the ball children speak volumes. Accordingly, a separation in the summer is likely.

Only the announcement is still missing. And with good reason: the focus of the players should be on the last three games and the fight for the first championship since 2012. A message like Hummels’ departure would be counterproductive from the bosses’ point of view.

Accordingly, an official announcement can only be expected after the decision in the Bundesliga.
