Here you come to the BVB news and rumors of the previous day.
BVB – News: Lothar Matthäus sees Borussia Dortmund as Bayern’s worst pursuer
Is it after skyexpert Lothar Matthäus, Borussia Dortmund is Bayern’s closest pursuer this season. He bases this assessment on the numerous well-known newcomers to the club and the performances against Bayer Leverkusen (1-0) and on Friday at SC Freiburg (3-1) in the Bundesliga.
at sky90 Matthäus said on Sunday: “I think there’s mentality in the team, they showed that in the first game against Leverkusen. Things really got going there and everyone fought back.”
Matthäus also sees a lot of positive things when looking at the squad: “In Nico Schlotterbeck you have gained a mentality player, Niklas Süle will bring his winning mentality from Munich, Donyell Malen plays differently than last season, Karim Adeyemi is still there, Salih Özcan is also a mentality player. Gregor Kobel also makes a great impression.”
All of this brings the record national player to the conclusion: “With this new coach, with this new mentality that he has brought in, Dortmund – if one can talk about pursuers at all – are the number one pursuers against Bayern.”
BVB – News: Edin Terzic sets a record
With the away win at SC Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic set a club record. With this win, he is the first BVB coach to have nine Bundesliga victories in a row.
In addition to the two this season, there were of course the last seven from the 2020/21 season, when he took over the team as interim coach for the sacked Lucien Favre.
BVB – News: U19 wins derby against Schalke 04
The BVB U19s started the new season with a great sense of achievement. Right at the start there was a derby with arch-rivals Schalke 04. Coach Mike Tullberg’s team beat Königsbau 3-1.
Julian Rijkhoff gave BVB a 2-0 lead with a brace in the youth stadium in Brackel, while Ayukayoh Mengot made it 3-0 before the break. Keke Topp finally scored the Schalke consolation goal in added time.
Tullberg’s conclusion afterwards was extremely positive: “The team played maturely, stuck to the plan one-to-one. I’m super proud. That was together with the success of the professionals (2-1 in Freiburg, editor’s note). and the U23s (1-0 against Rot-Weiss Essen in the 3rd division) have a great BVB weekend.”
