BVB – rumor: Marco Reus does not feel like a salary cut

Rumors have recently been circulating that Marco Reus would have to reckon with a significant loss in salary if his contract was extended at BVB. Picture even reported a halving from twelve million to just six million euros a year. A plan that the captain of Borussia apparently can’t get much out of.

As the WAZ reported, Reus is not at all willing to “restrict too much” in terms of his future salary. And it is the declared goal of the new sports director Sebastian Kehl to award contracts in a more performance-oriented manner in the future, i.e. to supplement lower basic salaries with performance bonuses.

Performance bonuses that Reus would probably not achieve because he is often absent due to injury and not only missed the World Cup in Qatar in the fall.

Kehl recently only confirmed that there were talks, but he did not reveal a trend. “Let yourself be surprised” was his answer to a corresponding question in the “Aktuelle Sportstudio” of the ZDF.

BVB – News: Voss-Tecklenburg wants BVB and Schalke in the women’s Bundesliga

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg would like the big clubs from the Ruhr area such as Borussia Dortmund or Schalke 04 to also play in the women’s Bundesliga. “When such clubs with such charisma, which connect so many people, get involved in the promotion of women’s football, then that is a huge added value,” said the native of Duisburg in a talk with the WAZ.

Only two and a half years ago, BVB decided to set up a department for girls’ and women’s football. The Black and Yellow women’s team is currently playing like arch-rivals Schalke in the sixth-rate district league.

Voss-Tecklenburg is very satisfied with the current development of women’s football. “Today, many have the opportunity to become professional footballers. I’ve always dreamed of that,” said the 55-year-old: “I just have the feeling that the whole world is committed in the right direction. Something is happening everywhere, the enthusiasm is huge .”

BVB – News: Edin Terzic proclaims week of truth

BVB is entering what will probably be the crucial weeks of the season. The top game against RB Leipzig is on Friday, next Tuesday we’re going to Chelsea in the Champions League and then there’s the pot derby with Schalke 04 next weekend.

So coach Edin Terzic is certain: “It’s the most important week of the season so far,” he said at the press conference on Thursday. “After this week we will be able to see a trend on how to proceed.”

Most recently, Borussia had won ten competitive games in a row, but mostly against more feasible opponents. Now the level of difficulty is gradually increased.
