No agreement yet in negotiations about Matthijs de Ligt with Juventus Turin

Matthijs de Ligt’s transfer to FC Bayern was negotiated on Monday. However, there was no agreement yet.

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic from FC Bayern Munich was in Turin on Monday to negotiate for the transfer of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt. According to information from SPOX and GOAL has not yet been able to reach an agreement, the offer from the German record champions is still below the expectations of the old lady.

However, further negotiations are expected to take place in the near future. Salihamidzic also wanted to face each other after the meeting SPOX and GOAL did not comment more specifically, when asked whether there was reason for optimism, the 45-year-old simply replied: “Always!”

The Dutchman de Ligt is to become the new chief of defense in Munich. At FC Bayern, coach Julian Nagelsmann would like a player with strong communication skills in the centre. A role that the existing players in the current squad are not (yet) expected to play.

Juventus are open to selling De Ligt as prospects of a renewal with the player, whose contract runs until 2024, are slim.
